National Presidential Joke Day

On August 11, 1984, while performing a sound check for a radio program, President Ronald Reagan jokingly said "I'm pleased to tell you today that I've signed legislation that will outlaw Russia forever. We begin bombing in five minutes." Unfortunately for President Reagan, the microphone was live and his words were broadcasted all over the world!
