National Pig Day

National Pig Day, often celebrated in the Midwest, was started in 1972 by sisters Ellen Stanley and Mary Lynne Rave. In honor of the pig, there are events at zoos, schools, and sporting events, as well as "pig parties" where pork delicacies are served.
