National Haiku Poetry Day

Image

April 17 is the day the whole world honors haiku. Registered in 2007 and initiated as a project of The Haiku Foundation in 2012, International Haiku Poetry Day occurs in the heart of the United States celebration of National Poetry Month. A haiku is a Japanese poem of seventeen syllables, in three lines of five, seven, and five, traditionally evoking images of the natural world.
