National Good Samaritan Day

A Good Samaritan is a person who voluntarily helps or provides assistance to someone in need, without expecting anything in return. The term "Good Samaritan" comes from a parable in the Bible, where a Samaritan helped a man who had been robbed and beaten, even though the Samaritan and the man were from different cultural and religious backgrounds. In modern times, the term "Good Samaritan" is used to describe anyone who helps others in need, whether it be a stranger on the street, a person in distress, or someone who is ill or injured. Good Samaritans often perform acts of kindness and compassion, such as giving money or food to the homeless, providing first aid to someone who is injured, or stopping to help someone whose car has broken down. Good Samaritans are highly valued in many societies, and their actions are often praised and celebrated. However, being a Good Samaritan can also involve risks, as helping someone in need may expose the Good Samaritan to danger or legal liability. Despite this, many people choose to help others in need, motivated by a sense of empathy, kindness, and moral obligation.
