Cheesecake is dessert consisting of one or more layers. The thickest layer, contains a mixture of soft, fresh cheese such as cream cheese or ricotta, eggs, and sugar. The bottom layer often consists of a crust or base made from crushed cookies, graham crackers, pastry, or sponge cake.
