First Day of Spring

The first day of spring, also known as the vernal equinox, occurs when the sun crosses the celestial equator moving from south to north. On this day, day and night are approximately equal in length. In the Northern Hemisphere, the vernal equinox usually falls on March 20th or 21st. This event marks the beginning of spring, a time associated with renewal and growth, as temperatures begin to rise and plants start to bloom.
