Father's Day

On June 19, 1910, the governor of the U.S. state of Washington proclaimed the nation's first "Father's Day." In 1972, the day became a nationwide holiday in the United States. Father's Day is a celebration honoring fathers and celebrating fatherhood, paternal bonds, and the influence of fathers in society.
